All the European Leagues return to action this weekend after the international break. All the clubs will be hoping to welcome their players back injury free to resume the domestic championships. This weekend sees some exciting fixtures across the European leagues.
La Liga: Atletico Madrid - Real Madrid Kick-Off 1945hrs 18th November
The Madrid Derby sees the two Madrid teams squaring up from fourth and third respectively, separated only by goal difference. Atletico have won only two of their last nine league games and are eight points from the top. Griezmann has been far from his top form, netting just three goals in 13 appearances. Real are having their own troubles in front of goal with top pair Benzema and Ronaldo only scoring two goals between them so far this season. Top scorer Isco is doubtful to be fit for the game, and Bale remains a long-term absentee with a calf problem.
Premiership: Arsenal - Tottenham Hotspur Kick-Off 1230hrs 18th November
This season’s north London derby finds the teams sixth and third in the league respectively. These matches are often a heated affair. Arsenal will be hoping to keep a tight grip on Spurs top scorer Harry Kane, he’s currently in a fine run of form, scoring eight goals with one assist. Spurs have kept a total of six clean sheets so far this season but Arsenal’s leading striker Lacazette will be doing his utmost to ensure that this match is not another. Arsenal are waiting to see if Danny Welbeck has recovered from injury for the game, but Santi Cazorla remains a long term injury casualty. Fit-again Dembele is available for selection, and Spurs will be hoping that top defender Vertonghen has recovered from his ankle injury after he was able to join his Belgium teammates in a full training session. Last season the teams shared the points in a one all draw.
Seria A: Roma - Lazio Kick-Off 1700hrs 18th November
Roma and Lazio are both in fantastic form as they meet up this weekend for the Rome Derby. These Derbies are always strongly contested matches. As they meet this time both teams have won their last five matches and only one point separates them in the league table. Roma have kept seven clean sheets and have only conceded seven goals so far this season. Lazio have been free-scoring, Immobile has 14 of the 31 goals that they have scored so far. Dzeko has scored seven goals with two assists for Roma. Last season, Lazio were 3 – 1 victors. This match should be a sizzler.
Bundesliga 1: Bayern Munich - FC Augsburg Kick-Off 1430hrs 18th November
Top of the table Bayern Munich host tenth placed FC Augsburg. Champions Bayern are in excellent form. They are enjoying a four game winning streak. Robert Lewandowski is again the leading scorer for the hosts with 11 goals. Thomas Muller is continuing his comeback from muscle strain. Gregoritsch is Augsburg's top marksman with five goals and one assist. Last season Bayern thrashed Augsburg in this fixture six goals to nil. Augsburg will be hoping to avoid a similar result but as they have managed four points from the last three games this match will be a tough one for them.
Ligue 1: Bordeaux - Marseille Kick-Off 2000hrs 19th November
Fourth-placed Marseille are without Patrice Evra who left the club recently after striking out at a fan. Marseille are currently fourth in the league, Thauvin has scored five goals and assisted four times for them. Bordeaux will be hoping that Malcom can add to his five-goal tally and lift them higher than ninth. Honours were even last time out with the match ending at one all. Bordeaux are on a three-game losing streak, losing 1 – 0 to Rennes in their last match. Marseille put five past Caen in their last league fixture.
