All the teams kick off at 1600hrs for the final round of matches on May 5th. Though the Exeter Chiefs are top with an unassailable lead and London Irish were relegated last weekend, the playoff fixtures against Exeter Chiefs and Saracens still need to be resolved.
Newcastle play Wasps at Kingston Park in a battle of fourth versus third. Although both teams are confirmed to be in a semi-final positions, this match will decide who plays the Chiefs and who goes to Allianz Park to meet Saracens. A win or a draw will be enough for Wasps to finish third, but a Falcons victory would see them claim third spot and the semi-final against Saracens at Allianz Park. Wasps have scored a massive 73 tries and 574 points this season and will surely be looking to their tally. Haskell, Cipriani and Thompson all leave the club at the end of the season and will be hoping to give their fans something to remember them by.
Top of the table Exeter Chiefs go to the Stoop to play tenth placed Harlequins. Quins have endured a disappointing and injury-ravaged season but they still have their pride to play for. They will want to ensure outgoing director of Rugby John Kingston leaves on a winning note. Depending on their own final score and the result between Northampton and Worcester, Quins could finish anywhere between 9th and 11th spot. Rampant Exeter have been free scoring all season and after a hard-fought campaign top the table for the first time in their history. Their fans will be hoping their focus hasn’t shifted to the playoff semi-final and that they continue their winning momentum.
Sale Sharks welcome Leicester for their final home game of the campaign. Leicester have had a below-par season by their own high standards. The playoffs will not feature the Tigers for the first time in 13 years; they will be working hard to ensure their season ends on a positive note. Just a single point would guarantee them Champions Cup rugby next season. Sale had their own playoff hopes dashed by a 34-19 defeat to Exeter in round 21. Leicester beat the Sharks in the round 8 fixture at Welford Road; Sale will be keen to beat them on home turf.
Saturday 5th April, Kick-Off @ 1600hrs
