Premier League Match Day 32 Fixtures & Previews

More or less 7 games to go, and glory is still up for grabs. First and second spots are split by one point, and third to fifth places are wide open because Chelsea can’t get their act together. Solskjaer’s loss to Wolves in the FA cup should knock him down a peg or two, and Klopp’s pants must have taken a real battering after narrowly beating Fulham. It’s up to City now as they have the one point advantage, and the quadruple is still on.

Liverpool v Spurs – Sun 31st March Kick off @ 1630hrs

The giant ego and peculiar grin that belong to Jurgen Klopp will be on show as Liverpool face their toughest test to date. Although Mo Salah is a terrific player and thoroughly deserves the accolade he gets, he’ll need to find a bit more than he had against Fulham. Liverpool will need to play football on Sunday properly to win, and not rely on weak refereeing to award bogus penalty claims.

If there was ever a time for Tottenham to shine, it’s now. At the moment, they are like the proverbial box of chocolates, and not even Pochettino knows what he is going to get. The news is full of stories linking the Spurs manager to other clubs, and to make matters worse, he told the press this week that he thought Barcelona were favourites to win the Champions League. In spite of this, he says he is happy at Tottenham, but how can he be?

Leicester v Bournemouth – 30th March Kick off @ 1500hrs

Brenden Rodgers and Jamie Vardy are on love island together, and it seems to be working. Say what you like about Vardy and his addiction to social media, he delivers goals when he is asked to. Fans of great football should tune in to this match on Saturday because Rodgers and his adversary Howe both believe in a fast flowing game. Since Claude Puel’s departure, Leicester do look much more lively, but this game could go either way, and will require quality too.

Last time out, Bournemouth looked dead certs to beat Newcastle. However, right at the death of the game, Matt Richie’s wonder goal robbed the Cherries of 2 points. After the game, Eddie Howe told the press conference that he was bitterly disappointed with a draw, but he thought the match produced one of those special moments that fans love. As Richie was a former Bournemouth player, it probably was a bitter pill to swallow for most, but clearly not for him.

West Ham v Everton – Sat 30th March Kick Off @ 1730hrs

West Ham used their get out of jail card against Huddersfield and managed to come back from 3 goals down. It’s unlikely that they are going to be allowed that particular luxury by Everton on Saturday. Based on his performance against the Terriers, Javier Hernandez must be in the starting line up on Saturday. Manuel Pellegrini will want to keep the Hammers’ fans on side with another win at home, but if Everton do decide to have a good day, that winning run could end abruptly.

Everton stunned Chelsea in a brilliant second half display of defensive and attacking football in their last game at home. However, if the Toffees behave as they did in the first half, they will surely come unstuck. Marco Silva is living a really charmed life at Goodison Park right now, but he can’t continue to get away with riding his luck in every game. If the Everton fans turn on him, he will most certainly be yesterday’s news. Tactical coherence for ninety minutes should get the better of the Hammers, but that isn’t guaranteed.

Fulham v Man City – Sat 30th March Kick Off @ 1230hrs

Fulham are probably done for, and they are staring at relegation as a reality now. Nobody wants to go down, but it all went wrong at the start of the season. However, if Scott Parker is able to remain in charge at Craven Cottage and the team keep playing the way they are, they’ll bounce back without a great deal of effort. Fulham have been playing some really good football with the players showing real desire too. The Lilywhites have every chance of pulling off a win on Saturday, despite a string of losses. Every dog has his day, and it could easily be against City.

The pressure may be taking its toll on City as they narrowly beat Swansea in the FA Cup. On this occasion, and many others too, Sergio Aguero came to the rescue with an eighty-eighth minute winner. A rather soggy Liberty stadium summed up the look on the City fans faces at half time, but more importantly, it showed how fragile the fans’ temperament was amongst the terraces. Let’s hope that Manchester’s dressing room is a little more resilient when they meet Fulham, who have nothing left to lose.
