Unibet, a European flagship sportsbook by Kindred Group Plc, has stated that it will be extending its sponsorship agreement with PSG, a French Ligue 1 champion. This sponsorship deal is going to run until their 2023 season campaign.
What Does the Extended Partnership Mean?
With the extension of the sponsorship deal, Unibet has entered into the third level partnership tier with PSG. With this tier, Unibet will get branding opportunities in Australia and the US, which are some of the new markets that Unibet is targeting. The deal also leads to enhanced rights across Europe. A combination of all these opportunities promotes the Unibet brand to more than 80 million fans around the world, which is one of the leading online bookmakers.
According to Mathieu Drida, the Kindred Group’s manager that is in charge of France the brand was delighted to enlarge the partnership with Paris Saint Germain as it will take it to a greater audience across various part of the world. He emphasized by saying that both parties had been engaging in major communications that have had great success with fans of football around the world.
He went on to say that by extending their partnership with Paris Saint-Germain, Unibet would promote their brand extensively in Europe and beyond.
More Details on the Deal
The first partnership agreement between the two parties was announced in June of 2018. It was worth about £3.5 million a year. However, the specific terms of the extension agreement have not been made public. However, it is expected that Unibet will benefit from the growth in exposure that is expected in the next few years of the agreement.
This sponsorship deal comes in the heels of another extension of sponsorship. Unibet recently announced the eighth extension (and probably the final package) of both Men and Women European Handball Federation Euro 2020 that happened at the start of the year.
On the side of PSG, the chief partnership’s officer, Marc Armstrong, retaliated that they were pleased that Unibet had shown faith in the club for deciding to extend their partnership. He added that the extension of the partnership showed how relevant the partnership was to Unibet.
Marc said that PSG shared a common goal with Unibet, one that involved breaking of boundaries in sport and playing a role in the lives of every football fan. He said that the results they have realised so far had motivated them to build on the earlier efforts and offer their fans engaging experiences.
