Premiership Weekend Fixtures 10-12 February
This weekend is set again to prove an exciting one for football fans. With the Premier League well underway, the weekend sees the North London Derby as longtime rivals Arsenal and Tottenham face each other in a lunchtime showdown.
Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal - Saturday 10th February kick off @1230hrs
The rivalry between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal dates all the way back to 1913. Although they had faced each other in matched prior to this, it wasn't until Arsenal moved their ground to North London that things really got heated. Fast forward to the present day and both teams are still as keen as ever to get the upper hand.
With Arsenal fresh from a 5-1 against Everton, they have everything to prove as their league position of 6th place makes them trailing behind Tottenham Hotspur's 5th place position. Although a win still wouldn't put Arsenal's 45 points up enough to beat Spurs 49, it would still be a victory and bragging rights.
Gunners fans will no doubt be hoping Nacho Monreal will be well enough to play after being forced off the pitch against Everton, and Tottenham Hotspur fans will be hoping for Toby Alderweireld's recovery. The match odds currently stand at 13/2 for a 1-1 draw on most of the online sports betting websites. Tottenham have actually drawn 25% of the time in their 12 games so a draw against Arsenal may be a good shout. The last time they clashed in November Arsenal won 2-0, but with Spurs being on home turf they may have a lot more of a chance to come up even against the Gunners. It's also worth mentioning the time before that Tottenham Hotspur won 2-0 so the chances are looking similar for both teams.
Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are both being touted as the players most likely to be goalscorers in the match and have the best odds if you are betting on that market.
Everton v Crystal Palace - Saturday 10th February, Kick off @ 1500hrs
Everton and Crystal Palace are another two teams who will meet over this weekend. With Everton being beaten 5-1 by Arsenal on their last outing they will be looking to at least come away with a draw to get back on track. The odds for a 0-0 draw are 8/1 with Everton winning 1-0 being set at 13/2 and Crystal Palace winning 1-0 being set at 15/2 this weekend's match certainly looks like it is going to be an interesting one.
Even Everton's manager has admitted he is not expecting miracles from the team this season after their 5-1 defeat by Arsenal which will be as unhelpful to team morale as their actual defeat was.
Manchester City v Leicester City -Saturday 10th February, Kick off @ 1730hrs
The city in the name is where the similarities end for both team in this instance, but although there is not a long-standing rivalry both Man City and Leicester City have something to prove. The unenviable task of facing Man City has fallen on Leicester City and although Man City drew 1-1 in their last outing the two performances before that saw them win so they are arguably looking to get back into their winning streak. Unfortunately for them, the odds are 12/1 on a 4-0 win for Manchester City. Looking at other markets, if you are going to place a goalscorer bet Jamie Vardy and Sergio Aguero are the favourites to hit the back of the net during the game.
Saturday 10th February - Kick-off @ 1500hrs (unless stated)
Sunday 11th February
Monday 12th February - Kick-off @ 2000hrs
